A History of Berean Baptist Church

A group of believers met on Sunday afternoon , March 30, 1958, in the house of Robert Bruhn in Elberta, Alabama with the purpose of forming a new church. The unanimous choice for a name was the Berean Baptist Church. Bill Oden was elected to serve as the first pastor. Through many years of steady growth and six pastors Berean Baptist flourished in the Elberta area. In June 2002 God led Robert Evans to be our pastor. Under his direction, the church has seen steady growth and many souls have come to Christ.

The Lord has blessed us tremendously the last two months. One blessing was that two boys that come to the Bible club trusted Christ as their personal Savior. What an encouragement to keep on sharing our Blessed Hope with those who are lost! Please pray that God would work in the lives of these two boys and that we would be able to help them understand this new Christian life. Another great blessing in the fact that the Lord has blessed in the English classes that we began to offer at the beginning of October. We have several people coming for these classes who otherwise would not come to the church.
